Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about our skip bin hire service.

Strictly no asbestos, vehicle tyres, or hazardous liquids. Paint tins can go in only when the paint is fully dried (leave lids off until dry). Batteries must be visible to the driver for safe handling. For hazardous liquid disposal, contact your local council.
All types of mixed rubbish including concrete, masonry, soils, metals, plastics, timber, and green waste, subject to waste stream rules for your selected bin type.
Estimate the pile volume using length x width x height = cubic metres (m3). Example: 1.8m x 1.6m x 1.3m = 3.7m3, so choose a 4m3 bin.
Customers can hire any bin size for up to 14 days if needed. We prefer customers call us or use the online pickup form once the bin is filled within the recommended hire period.
No. Bins must not be filled above rim level. Drivers carry tarps for safe transport, but overloaded bins are unsafe and can breach EPA and OH&S requirements.
If overloaded, we may arrange an additional bin delivery at customer cost, and excess waste protruding above the rim must be removed. Overloaded bins are dangerous and create EPA/OH&S risks.
Ensure clear truck access and placement space for delivery and pickup. Allow around 7m overhead clearance from trees and powerlines. Move vehicles, boats, or caravans as needed and keep keys accessible if required.
Bins should be placed on your property unless you have a local council permit. Driveway access for smaller bins generally needs at least 2.4m width and 2.7m clearance. Larger bins require greater clearance and access.
No. The operator will position the bin as requested where safe and practical. Moving bins can prevent collection and may cause additional charges and handling requirements.
If concerned, place timber bearers under the bin or apply for a council permit where suitable. Trucks are heavy, especially at pickup, so ensure driveway/lawn areas can handle the load.

Blue Bins Waste Pty Ltd takes no responsibility for damage caused by poor workmanship or existing construction issues. Subcontract drivers carry insurance cover where vehicle-caused damage occurs.
